The Marathon of Rome

What? Get ready runners! Here is the XXI edition of the Marathon of Rome. The race starts and ends in Via dei Fori Imperiali and you will be able to run along the major attractions of the “Eternal City”. Sign up online and take into account that sooner you register, the lower the fee. In 2014 the Marathon of Rome set a new all-time record among all Italian sport events with 14,875 finishers! The race starts at 8:50.

Giornate FAI di Primavera

When? 20th  21st - 22nd March, 2015

What? Are you a real lover of art and you want to discover everything about the beautiful Italian monuments? Then read further! Here’s your chance to visit churches, gardens, palaces, archaeological sites and many other Italian beauties usually off-limits to the public. Yes, you have read well! This year will be the 23rd edition of “Giornate FAI di Primavera”, the event that the “Fondo per l’Ambiene Italiano” organizes every year. “Primo Maggio” Concert

What? Tiromancino, Modena City Ramblers, Piero Pelù, Clementino, Bandabardò and Velvet… these are only few names that will perform on the stage of the “Primo Maggio” concert in Rome! Italian Open – Italian Open tennis tournament

When?  10th – 17th May, 2015

Where? Foro Italico  

What? Rome: the city of art, history, monuments and… sports! This year the Italian capital will host the “Italian Open” tennis tournament starting from the 10th of May. The “Internazionali BNL d’Italia” features the best players at the Foro Italico as one of the three ATP World Tour Masters. You should really not miss it.

The International Horse Jumping competition of Piazza di Siena

What? For 4 days Rome will exhibit the 83rd edition of the “Concorso Ippico Internazionale di Piazza di Siena”, event that joins history, custom, tradition in a great sports day. The international Horse Jumping competition is the milestone of the Capitoline spring. You can register on the website, where you can find the races’ program and all the information needed.

When?  29th – 31st May, 2015

Where? Officine Farneto

What? Are you fond of cooking and you would like to start your own business? Don’t waste time anymore and join the event organized by “This is Rome”! The 29th, 30th and 31st May at Officine Farneto will come back “This is Food”, an initiative which annually presents the most originals and interesting realities of Italian dining scene. There will be presented successful experience as well as new ideas and new “urban brands”. 6,500 people visited the fair in 2014 to taste Italian specialties. ‘This is Food’ is also a celebration of music, with great DJs playing from morning to night! In addition, this year there’s a great initiative, called ‘Container’, for those people who want to start working in this field presenting their own idea of a new start-up! C’mon, it’s your turn!

The Moon over the Colosseum

What? Have you always wondered how the Colosseum looks like by night? ‘La Luna sul Colosseo’ is your opportunity to discover the Flavian Amphitheatre… under the moonlight! Every Monday, Thursday and Saturday, from April to October, the monument opens its doors from 20:10 to 24:00 (last admission 22:40). The tour begins from the floor of the arena, the heart of the monument, from where you can see the depth of underground tunnels, the arches and the galleries. The tour continues with the view of the entire auditorium from above.

What? The Auditorium Parco della Musica, a project by the famous Italian architect Renzo Piano, is a large multi-functional music complex in Rome. Every month it hosts many live concerts, festivals, exhibitions and movies. Besides the events, a visit to the Auditorium is your occasion to admire the amazing architecture by the greatest Italian architect, author of many projects around the world, such as the “Centre Georges Pompidou” in Paris and “The London Bridge Tower”, also known as the “Shard”. Moreover, you will be also captured by the structure of the Auditorium halls, built in order that the sound spreads out uniformly in all directions.
