Did you know that Florence has more ore less a third of all the art in the world? That’s right – according to the Unesco, Italy has more than 60% of the art in the world, and half of that is in the beautiful city of Florence.
Knowing this, it won’t surprise you that there are 72 museums in the city! Don’t worry, you don’t have to visit them all (we assume only some of the locals have done it), but make sure to visit at least the wonderful Uffizi Gallery. But, as you probably know, there is more than art in Florence… or is it?
Because the city could be considered a piece of art itself! You’re not likely to forget the green, pink and white of the marble walls of the Florence Cathedral, one of the most unique religious buildings in the world, or the charming medieval Ponte Vecchio.
And, of course, there’s also the food and the wine– you can’t leave Florence without trying its Chianti!
