Right in the river, you can get lost among the little streets and places of the two little islands in the middle, Île Saint-Louis and Île de la Cité. You can enjoy the little hills that conform the unequal surface of the city, Montmartre being the tallest and the most visited, thanks to the bohemian district that stands there.

You will be surrounded by locals of all ages, although the residents of Paris Centre are usually of upper or upper-middle class. You will also be surrounded by lots of artists and expats, since Paris is a very international city. • There are many places in Paris where you can shop, but the main avenue to do so is the Champs Elysées. Think London’s Oxford Street but with the charm and the haute-couture typical from Paris! There, you will find all the major fashion brands and also designers’ stores such as Givenchy or Louis Vuitton. Besides, you will also find entertainment stores where to buy records, books and technology products.
But there are other places besides the Champs Elysées! You can also surround yourself with luxury at the famous department store Galeries LaFayette, located in the Opera district. This neighbourhood is also full of luxury stores located in the beautiful passages that connect different streets from inside the buildings. For those who are not really big in luxury, you can also shop for old books and rarities at the stands of the bouquinistes, located by the river Seine.
  • The best means of transportation in Paris Centre is the metro. There are many different lines that will take you to the different parts of the city, and you can find metro stations all around. Get one good metro map and voilà! You’re free to go wherever you want in Paris Centre.
