Trocadero

Trocadero, a beautiful place of elegance

  • Trocadero is one of the most majestic and interesting places of Paris. It’s a square, but when saying Trocadero, the Parisians often refer to the whole beautiful area including the Palais de Chaillot and the Gardens, topped by an enormous fountains and with the best view of the Eiffel Tower in the whole Paris. The Palais de Chaillot is located there, in the hill of Chaillot, which used to be a village. The name Trocadero may sound familiar to you: There is an entertainment centre in London that shares a name with this beautiful place. In fact, both are named after the battle of Trocadero, in which the French army won the Isla del Trocadero from the Spanish. Trocadero is indeed a place of history: The majestic Trocadero Palace was built for the World’s Fair of 1878, and later demolished for the one of 1937: The Palais de Chaillot was built in its place.
