Barcelona’s Plaça Espanya is the second biggest square in Spain, only after the one with the same name located in Madrid. It counts with a surface of 34.000 square metres and it’s considered to be one of the most important squares of Barcelona.
    This famous plaza was built in 1929 for the World’s Fair of Barcelona, and it was designed by architect Josep Puig i Cadafalch. The main characteristic of Plaça Espanya are its two big Venetian towers, also built in year 1929. Its construction came with the ensemble of Montjuïc mountain, which also incorporated new elements, such as the Mies Van der Rohe Pavilion and the Magic Fountain, a few years later.

    During your stay in Barcelona, you must visit the most famous club in the city, Apolo. This club used to be a theatre and was remodelled as a dance hall.
