Milan’s Fiera

Milan’s Fiera, a must-visit for businessmen and businesswomen

  • Welcome to Milan’s Fiera, one of the most modern areas of Milan and one of the main business centres as well: The Fiera Milano is one of the largest and most important fair organisers in the world and, of course, the main one in Italy. The numbers are equally impressive: more than 30.000 exhibitions every year and around 70 shows, among which you will find the Salone del Mobile, the International Tourist Exchange, the Milan Motorcycle Show (EICMA), among many others. All those, however, have recently moved to another facility located outside of the city that was inaugurated in 2005 and is located between Pero and Rho.
The Fiera Milano is also a place with history: it was inaugurated in 1923 under the name of Fiera Campionaria. Nowadays it is known as Fieramilanocity to distinguish it from the newest and biggest one. Still today, it hosts lots of smaller events and important fairs that need to be celebrated inside the city of Milan.
  • Fiera Milano, or Milan’s Fiera, is like a small city itself. One of the most famous fair venues in the world, during your stay in the apartments near the Fiera you will be surrounded by businessmen and businesswomen as well as a specialised audience depending on the event that is being hosted there at the moment. In fact, that is probably the reason why you decided to stay in that area as well!
Milan is located in the area of Greater Milan, one of the biggest urban areas of the European Union, and has an estimated population of 7 to 10 million – 1,3 million of which live right in the city of Milan. No wonder the Fiera Milano is one of the most important fairs in the world!
  • You are probably staying in the apartments near Fiera Milano because you have some convention or fair to attend – so you may not be counting on having too much free time to go shopping, especially because many of the most famous shopping locations in Milan, such as the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, are located in the city centre. However, did you know that you can enjoy some shopping areas not too far from the Fiera as well? That’s right! North of the Fiera area you will find Piazza Portello, where you will find a shopping centre that will cover all your basic shopping needs.
And there is more: to the south, by the metro station Wagner, you will find the Mercato Comunale Wagner, a beautiful old and traditional food market that will make a nice counterpoint to the modern Fiera.
  • The Fiera is very well communicated, since it is one of the main business areas of the city. There are two metro lines that will communicate you with other important parts of the city of Milan, the line 5 (which will communicate you with the neighbourhoods of Bullona and China Town) and the line 1, the main metro line of the city, which will take you directly of the city centre and Porta Venezia. Besides, there are many taxis that operate in the area since it is usually full of people in need of transportation, so you won’t have any trouble leaving the area, probably the best communicated one after Milan centre. There are also trains and a shuttle bus that will take you directly to the airport.
  • Milan’s Fiera is a location where big trade fairs are celebrated, but they also host conventions and events, as well as important exhibitions. In the Fiera, you will also be able to admire the architecture of the modern pavilions and buildings.
Of course, even if you decide to stay in the apartments near Fiera Milano, you should definitely pay a visit to the city centre. The Milan Cathedral or Duomo is one of the most beautiful cathedrals in the world… And one of the biggest! Besides, there are definitely other areas worth exploring, such as the beautiful Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II and the Parco Sempione. After attending your business in Milan’s Fiera, what about relaxing at that beautiful park, located between the Fiera and the city centre?
  • A business area such as Milan’s Fiera of course has lots of different restaurants where you can have a delicious meal in an elegant atmosphere. Let’s start with the ones that offer local cuisine, since Italian gastronomy still is one of the main tourist attractions of any Italian city! In Il Bue e la Patata you will be able to try pizza and delicious Italian meats, as well as in the Ristorante Dolcevita Eleonora e Salvino. If you want to try burrata, a particular and yummy Italian cheese, we recommend Al Valentino. There are also plenty of fish and seafood restaurants in the area, such as Noi Pesce and Al Pesciolino. And talking about fish… Around the apartments near the Fiera, you will also find some exclusive Japanese sushi and fusion restaurants, such as MooKuzai, Iyo and Feel Fusion. Inside the Fiera facilities, you will also find other restaurants and snack bars for all tastes.
  • The area around Fiera isn’t one of the main nightlife areas of Milan, so you may want to consider moving a bit more towards the centre or the area of Maggiolina, where you will find one of the most exclusive nightclubs of the city, Tunnel. However, near the Fiera you will also find other pubs and bars where you can have a drink after a day admiring the modern buildings of the Fiera. South of the Fiera facilities, between metro stops Wagner and De Angeli, you will find Akademia, a pub where you will be able to enjoy fresh drinks and cocktails.
